Starting his career with Newcastle United at the age of 17, he has amassed a net worth of nearly $25 million. Continue reading to learn more about his earnings and career in detail.

Andy Carroll Net Worth

Andrew Carroll’s current Net Worth is about $25 million. His income has lowered significantly in the past couple of years. However, he was once one of the highest-earning strikers in the Premier League.

Take a look at his earnings throughout the years at different clubs.

Initial Years With Newcastle and Liverpool

Andy Carroll earned most of his money during his initial years. He started his career with Newcastle United and was in for his 4th season when he was auctioned off to Liverpool. Liverpool paid a whopping $40 million to have Andy as their striker. More than a decade ago, he was then reportedly earning about $90,000 per week with Liverpool.

6 Years At West Ham United

After two seasons with Liverpool, Andy was loaned out to West Ham United for $2.25 million for the next season. His weekly wages stayed the same as he got at Liverpool, which was completely paid by West Ham United.

In the 2013-14 season, West Ham United took the move to make the loan permanent and signed Andy for 6 years, paying Liverpool $16.87 million. It was a record transfer fee for West Ham. He reportedly made the same weekly salary as before. Carroll completed his 6 seasons with West Ham and was then released.

Return To Newcastle

Newcastle United signed him up for a 1-year deal when he became a free agent. His weekly wages dropped considerably to $22,000. They extended the deal to another season and Carroll left Newcastle for the second time after playing for 2 seasons.

Short Contract With Reading

In 2021, Reading signed a short two-month agreement with Carroll. The terms of the contract are shocking. Due to a breach of financial rules by the Championship club, the EFL put some restrictions on them, so they could only offer a weekly salary of $1,120 to Andy. It’s honestly a nice change to see players choose to continue their football careers despite substantially lower earnings. In January 2022 Carroll left the club.

West Bromwich Albion

He finished the rest of the season with West Bromwich Albion and was let go when the short contract ended. We don’t know the terms of the contract as they haven’t been disclosed.

Short Return To Reading

After a few months as a free agent, Andy got another short contract with Reading and has been playing for them since September 2022. The details of the contracts for his last two moves are unknown for now.

Andy Carroll Background & Personal Life

Andrew Thomas Carroll was born on 6 January 1989 to parents Thomas Carroll and Sussan Simmonds. His family belonged to a middle-class background and he had a humble upbringing in his hometown of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, United Kingdom.

His father worked as a machinist for decades, assembling and manufacturing different metal parts to form machines, tools, etc. Even though they didn’t have a ton of money to throw around, his parents were always supportive of his football career.

They also made sure he completed his GCSEs and got good marks. He got his schooling from Brighton Avenue Primary School and Joseph Swan School. As a schoolboy, he was invested in football and supported Newcastle. He would attend their matches every season.

In his teens, he got the opportunity to play sometimes as a part of Newcastle United’s reserve team. He soon signed his first professional contract with the club and at only 17 years of age, Andy debuted at the UEFA Cup 2006.

Andy Carroll’s Wife And Children

Andy is married to reality-TV star Billi Mucklow. He proposed to her in November 2014. They got married on June 5, 2022, after a long engagement. The wedding took place in Hampshire and the bride looked stunning in a relaxed boho-style wedding dress.

They have three children together. Their first child, Arlo, was born in June 2015. If you think that the name Arlo sounds unusual, wait till you hear what they named their second child. Wolf Nine Carroll was born in November 2017. They had another baby girl in September 2020. The couple decided to name her Marvel Mae Carroll.

Andy also has two other children from his past relationship. They are named Emilie Rose and Lucas. The couple sometimes shares pictures of their children on social media.

It is nice to see Andy in a seemingly stable and loving relationship, considering his past relationship with Stacey Miller. Carroll was charged with assault in an incident with his ex-girlfriend Stacey.

The two had gotten into a fight in which Stacey got some injuries to her head. These charges were dropped as there was a lack of evidence. Andy maintains that he hurt her in self-defense.

Andy Carroll’s Off-The-Pitch Behavior

There’s a reason why a promising player like Andy Carroll saw such a decline in his career. Other than his frequent injuries on the field and worse performance in matches, he also had too many brushes with the law to ignore.

What started as a general bad boy behavior, like drinking and partying, turned into serious alcohol addiction issues for a while. Although he made statements regarding changing his lifestyle in 2012, his former manager, Sam Allardyce, commented that he wasn’t doing the best job at rehabilitation. As he was failing to look after himself, his time at West Ham United was marred by many injuries.

However, currently, he seems to be doing better than ever. He hasn’t been involved in any scandals in the past years. It seems that Andy is committed to getting his career back on track and leaving his old habits behind.

Andy Carroll Arrests And Other Incidents.

Apart from the assault charges filed by his ex-girlfriend on 18 October 2010, there are some other occasions in his life where Andy didn’t use his best judgment. Here are a few incidents over the years that Andy’s name is associated with:

  • In 2007 Andrew was on international duty and preparing to play against Romania U-19s. He broke curfew along with Scott Sinclair and Ryan Bertrand. All 3 of them were sent home and couldn’t play for England U-19 in the match.
  • On September 14, 2008, Carroll was arrested in Newcastle and was released with a police caution.
  • He was again arrested in Newcastle in December 2009. This time he had gotten in a fight at a nightclub, smashing glass in a man’s face during it. He was charged with common assault to which he pleaded guilty in October 2010. He had to pay a $ 1,100 fee and a compensation of $2,800.
  • In March 2010, he got into another fight. This time with his teammate, Steven Taylor. Steven suffered a broken jaw, while Andy allegedly hurt his hands. Since everyone at the center of this situation declined to comment any further, much isn’t known about this.

Andrew Carroll Was A Victim of Attempted Robbery

In November 2016; Andy was driving in the area near his home in Brentwood, Essex. That’s when two men approached him, riding on motorcycles. They were armed with a handgun. They tried to steal Andy’s $25,000 watch. As scary as it was, somehow Andy got away from them. Andy was chased for 20 minutes by the two robbers. He decided to get help from West Ham’s security staff, so he was driving towards his club’s training ground in Rush Green while being chased.

One man was successfully linked to this incident. Later, In September 2017, Jack O’Brien, a 22-year-old, was sentenced to six years in prison on charges of attempted robbery.

Final Words

Andy Carroll is only 33 years old and has a chance to turn around his career. He looks like he is determined to do the same. Even though he already has earned enough money to lead a comfortable life with his kids, he chose to sign short contracts with Reading that are earning him far less than he used to make.

He is also looking much healthier than he did in the past and seems genuinely happy in his personal life It is great to see the striker, who has gathered 9 caps for the English national football team, take the challenge of bringing his career back on track.

Hopefully, he will be able to score more contracts in the future and play for a long time.
