In 2021, I co-founded the Genomics Institute of Toronto with Paul R. Delaney, PhD. The Institute was designed to help medical researchers address the specific needs of the scientific and pharmaceutical communities by providing them with an independent service grounded in linguistic science. Dr Delaney is an internationally recognized authority on language and linguistics, has edited more than 100 books on the subject, and spent 23 years working as a professor at the University of Montreal. I believe that the business and French translation issues surrounding Genomics are unique. This expertise can greatly benefit those in business and the academic community who need access to highly specialized scientific data. It is also important to note that Dr Delaney is an inventor and entrepreneur. His work with Genomics is rooted in finding practical solutions to language and culture issues and business and medicine.
Dr Delaney and I have been very successful in business and French translation, and he is a world-class expert in these areas. However, we decided to expand our services beyond our original areas of expertise and began offering comprehensive services. We started with an online company in our home country of Canada, and now our global reach includes over 40 countries and territories and a growing number of speciality sites. When contracting with Dr Delaney, our primary goal was to offer high-quality medical translation and interpretation, and we think that we have succeeded. His expert knowledge, coupled with our own experience, has allowed us to expand our offerings in the area of business and French translation to a great extent.

From an organizational standpoint, Dr Delaney’s PhD came from a background in engineering. In addition, he worked as a systems analyst for a large electronics firm. While there, he obtained firsthand experience in business communication, sales, operations, international finance, and marketing. Strong leadership and management skills, combined with communication skills, led him to create his PhD in Business and French translation from the University of Cambridge. His dissertation was on the relationship between language and culture in advertising.
Dr Friedman’s B.A. from Princeton University has been instrumental in his successful career as an international business specialist, translator, and business consultant. His translation and interpretation experience spans twenty years, travelling to over sixty countries regularly. In addition to his translation and interpretation work, he served as a consultant and speaker on issues of translation and communication. He has been involved in the development of several technology and non-business programs. Dr Friedman is a strong communicator and has a wealth of experience in the business of translation and interpretation.
