Fall is here and that means one big thing – it’s time for fall cleaning!
Autumn is a great time of year to do a thorough, top to bottom cleaning of your home. As the leaves fall and the exterior world goes through its cycle of change once again, you can make beautiful changes evident inside your home or apartment as well.
If you’re looking for some tips for a room-by-room deep clean to help you work your way around your house, you came to the right place. Read on for a great house cleaning checklist that will make sure you don’t miss a thing!
Fall Cleaning Room by Room
When it comes to doing a complete and total fall cleaning of your home, it’s best to tackle the project one room at a time. This way, you can make sure you clean everything that needs to be cleaned and you will feel a big sense of accomplishment as you finish each area that will help you stay on task for the rest.
Don’t try to do it all at once – you’ll just burn out. Instead, do a room or a portion of each room each day. You’ll be done before you know it!
However, remember that you don’t have to do this all alone. If you hate cleaning, remember, you can delegate these tasks, too – call a cleaning service like doitrightcleaning.net and you won’t have to lift a finger!
Kitchen
We all find ourselves cleaning the kitchen more than any other room of the house, but there are some things you should do each season to keep it looking great.
Take some time to scrub the grout between the floor and wall tiles. Clean under the fridge and clean the inside of your dishwasher and your oven. Take all your dishes and pots and pans out of the cabinets and wipe them down, too. Clean and condition the wood on your cabinets. You also should take this opportunity to clean your garbage can inside and out as well.
Bathroom
This is also a great time to scrub the grout in your bathroom as well. Go through your cabinets and storage areas and throw away anything that has expired like prescription medicines and old makeup. Replace your shower curtain liner and wipe down everything everywhere.
Bedroom
You probably don’t wash your blankets and comforters as much as you should even if you change your sheets on a regular basis, so a fall cleaning is a great time for that; get them all clean and cozy for the winter weather. While you’re at it, you might as well flip your mattress, too. Take summer clothes out of the closet and put your winter wear inside it; sort through and donate stuff that you don’t wear, too.
Living Room
Polish all of your wood furniture and clean your upholstered furniture in whatever way is best for it; wash blankets and pillows. Pull dead leaves off houseplants and prepare them for their dormant period. Dust everything and wipe down all electronics, too. Shampoo your rugs or carpets. Be sure to have your fireplace inspected before you light that first fire of the season.
Everywhere
There are lots of things all over the house that may be easy to forget, so be aware of them, too! Wipe down your baseboards, walls, doors, switchplates, air vents, and doorknobs. Dust your blinds and clean your curtains and windows. Wipe all that dust off ceiling fans as well.
Happy Cleaning
Fall cleaning feels good. It may seem like a lot of work at first, but once the job is complete, you’ll feel accomplished and you’ll be able to relax and enjoy the upcoming holidays knowing that your home is as clean as it can be. Good luck!
